Ono - Wahoo

Pacific Wahoo, Acanthocybium solanderi Japanese Name: Kamasu-sawara Ono is Hawaiian for "delicious, tasty" A firm, white and flaky fish once cooked. It has a lean and mild flavor and an excellent source of low fat protein and low in sodium. It is rich in niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, phosphorus and selenium. Ono also provides about 750 mg of omega-3’s (DHA and EPA) per 8 ounce serving of fresh fish. Commonly caught in the 8-30 pound size range about 60 to 65% of whole fish weight can be recovered as fillet.
